"Good service and comfortable place to bring your friends or family."
"Price a bit expensive but the quality of food is good and fresh."
"It is deep fried rolled sushi with beef inside... i love it"
5 At Hikaru Dining, we tried the Ebi Furai Curry Don, Karaage Don, and Teka Maki (tuna sushi). The dishes offered reasonable value for money, though I have encountered more flavourful options at similar price points elsewhere. The Ebi Furai Curry Don was a highlight, featuring crispy fried shrimp that retained a satisfying crunch. The portion size was generous, but the curry itself lacked the depth and richness one might expect, rendering it decently remarkable. The Karaage Don, a classic combination of fried chicken, egg, and rice, was enjoyable with its adequate portioning. However, the chicken fell short in crispness and the overall flavour profile was rather one-dimensional, leaning towards salty but lacking in umami. The Teka Maki, while undeniably fresh, offered a straightforward savoury taste, with little complexity to elevate the dish beyond its simplicity. The dishes were something that one wouldn't nitpick too much unless you're a snob and they were all within expectations. On the whole, the rice bowls were passable, providing decent quality for the price, and the extensive variety on the menu adds to the appeal. However, I suspect the ramen may be the true standout at this establishment, even though I have yet to try it. Hikaru Dining is a commendable choice for casual dining, whether solo or with friends, particularly if you appreciate a diverse selection of Japanese dishes. The atmosphere of the restaurant was truly remarkable, offering an authentic Japanese dining experience. The interior was adorned with tasteful Japanese-inspired decorations, creating a calming and inviting ambience that was perfectly suited for dining, casual conversations, or even working. The tranquillity of the space, coupled with its comfortable seating, added to the overall charm. The service was equally impressive—efficient and attentive, with dishes promptly served to the table. The restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded during my visit, which further enhanced the relaxed dining experience. Situated conveniently near major campuses in Yogyakarta, this establishment feels like a hidden gem, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city.
5 Yes, let's eat Japanese! It's not a big restaurant and we went on Saturday evening, not too busy. The only comment i have is that the waitresses do not give you the idea you're in a Japanese restaurant. But the interior is nice decorated with Japanese signs and the seats are comfortable. The food is great, we really enjoyed the flavors and the serving was fast. We ordered all kind of different things, even the raw fish. Very fresh! All was done with a nice plating as well. The Wasabi was not 'spicy' enough in my opinion. But overall, we had a great dinner.
4 A decent Japanese restaurant in Jogja that also offers a variety of bluder susu bread. Recommended. The place is quite small and has limited parking (only 2-3 cars)
5 This place is actually a restaurant with a small bakery inside. I came here to buy bread, but the selection was very limited—mostly just bluder. The staff informed me that the bigger variety is available at their Terban branch. I haven’t tried the restaurant at the Colombo location yet. As for the bluder, the texture was really soft, but the filling was overly sweet, making it a bit overwhelming. I couldn’t even finish more than two. Sorry I didn't take any proper picture there.
5 One of great sushi place located in yogyakarta city. The place isn't big, but have a nice comfortable atmosphere with very strong japanese style decoration. Located in the same building with a hotel. In the diner hour it can be a little crowded. The meals taste excellent, my favourite is their raw salmon or tuna mixed with rice. The quality of the fish is very good, mixed with rice and a little bit soy sauce make the dish perfect. Also, must try their saba shioyaki, they made it pretty authentic, very delicious and well served.
4 We re looking for sushi place out side the Mall and we found this Japanese Dining near University areas of Yogyakarta. The ambiance is quiet well with Japanese art and they have bakery inside the restaurant! We order Sesame salad and Yasai salad as appetizer, it’s very generous portion of salad and the dressing is nice, especially the Yasai, kind of tangy Yuzu hint which makes fresher. The sushi we choose two platers from salmon to nigiri tuna etc, and sashimi . All is fresh and tasty actually, the only down side is the wasabi is bit flat (might be the ratio of water and wasabi powder) , we also try the bread from the bakery, very soft and fluffy. Overall is ok and the staff all nice and friendly
5 The best Japanese Resto in town.. paket kumplit dah.. very recommended
5 One of best halal japaness food i know. The price is very affordable with delicious food. Love it!

Evenings can get a bit busy, especially during dinner hours, so visiting earlier or on weekdays may offer a quieter experience.
The space is relatively small but comfortable, making it ideal for solo diners or small groups rather than large parties.
